Welcome!

Around Chesham by Lalage Smyth, former member of the Photography with Digital Imaging Group
Welcome to the website of Chess Valley u3a
Operating in and around Chesham in Buckinghamshire, we offer a wide range of activities for those in their ‘third age’, when they are no longer working full time and are able to pursue other interests. The u3a is a friendly, member-led organisation, run by the members for the members. Our members take part in activities ranging from Art to Wildlife, with books, dinghy sailing, French, history and a lot more in between. In total we have over fifty different activities at the present time.
Our next monthly talk is on Thursday 12th February and features Andy Thomas with Paranormal Mysteries and Cover-ups. In his talk, Andy explores some of the most famous global mysteries, finding linking threads between them. For example, what is the truth about UFOs, ghosts, the Bermuda Triangle, strange creatures, religious apparitions, psychic phenomena and historical enigmas? Andy is the author of many books and has given thousands of lectures in Britain and around the world over three decades. He is one of the organisers of the Glastonbury Symposium conference, the longest-running annual alternative event in the UK.
The venue for this talk is the Broadway Baptist Church, which is wheelchair-accessible and equipped with a hearing loop, and the meeting starts at 2pm.
If you are not currently a member of Chess Valley u3a and would like to sample a Monthly Talk and learn more about us, please come along and you will receive a warm welcome.
Best wishes
James
