Around Chesham by Lalage Smyth, member of the Photography and Digital Imaging Groups

Welcome to the website of Chess Valley u3a

Operating in and around Chesham in Buckinghamshire, we offer a wide range of activities for those in their ‘third age’, when they are no longer working full time and are able to pursue other interests.

Our members take part in activities ranging from Art to Wildlife, with books, dinghy sailing, French, history and a lot more in between.

We also arrange visits to places of interest and, each month, have a General Meeting, open to all members, with a very diverse variety of interesting speakers.

Our last General Meeting of 2021 is on Thursday 9th December. Our speaker is author and historian Paul Robbins and his talk is entitled Great British Eccentrics.  Note that this will be a live meeting, at the Broadway Baptist Church in Chesham.

If you are not currently a member of Chess Valley u3a, and would like to sample a General Meeting and learn more about us, please come along on 11th November and you will receive a warm welcome.

Special arrangements during the COVID-19 pandemic

The government removed the remaining COVID-19 restrictions on 19th July which means that Groups can now, if they wish, resume face-to-face meetings. Many Groups have now started to meet again, sometimes in outdoors settings, but other Groups have chosen to delay meeting face-to-face for a while to see how things settle down.

In the meantime, best wishes and stay safe.
